A reader recently said she hoped my next post would be funny. I’m not capable of being funny on command, though I am sometimes funny — now and then, I’m even funny on purpose. But I get that I tend to write about problems and serious topics, and people might get tired of those.
So today, I’m offering a little break from the problems. I don’t have anything funny or light to say, but as it’s Halloween, I thought I’d give you some tricks and treats. That is, one trick and some treats.
The trick is that I’m going to link to previous pieces, rather than writing a whole new one.
The treats are some of my lighter posts from the past year, which I hope you’ll enjoy. Some of them even have funny parts.
Also, I lied. Scroll to the end for something right inside this post that could be funny. I’ll let you decide.
Corporate Wedding Vows
For my final trick — I mean, treat — I present the Corporate Wedding Vows that Rafael and I, with our ninja entrepreneurial spirit and thought leadership, ideated as a deliverable for our wedding reception in 2009.
While they’re not a core competency of my Substack — or even a vertical in my Substack at all — I feel that the vows are aligned with the “funny and light” theme of this post, where content is king. Our vows leverage some of the most impactful corporate-speak that had come online as of 2009. In addition, the vows demonstrate our proven track record of brand and values alignment. They may propel you to quiet-quit or become part of the Great Resignation; whatever your takeaway, I believe our vows can move the needle and even be a value-add to disrupt the new normal. I’m out of pocket now, but you can ping me with a comment below and I’ll circle back.
Well, this was fun! I loved watching the clips from P and P and North by Northwest...
Love this post! And the corporate vows aligned with my funny bone.
