Un-PC as it is, I love that MM scene!

You may not marry a man just because he can write well, but my goodness, doesn't it help? ;-)

It was such a great movie!

Sitting down and taking the time to hand-write a letter to the one you love. Then waiting a week to receive the reply in the mail. I miss the pace of those days sometimes. Your piece reminded me of that.

And it was all worth the wait to get 10 pages of stoned nonsense! 🤣 Seriously, though, it is nice to have my old letters from long ago.

Ah me . . . you remind me about my first real true-love romance, which lasted a year. We met while working at a High Sierra Camp. He wrote me poems with a spidery Rapidograph and gave them to me collected in a construction-paper folder. I still have them somewhere. They were pretty good (for a 19-year-old). I also wrote poetry back in those days. My one experience of being a Muse.

I love this piece! I love your writing and the smooth way you express your ideas and thoughts. I remember when I first started doing comedy, I used to write long stories and my comedy teacher would say to me: "That's awesome if you're writing a book. Comedy it's about the economy of words." So she taught me how to cut all the writing that didn't serve the joke and stick with the essential. What really helped me transition into comedy writing was the use of punctuation; those translate to pauses in my jokes. You have to embrace the pause! Thank you Rosana for the link and the inspiration to the semicolon joke.

Thank you!! I love that, "embrace the pause." You really have honed your timing skills. I can keep watching your semicolon bit over and over, and it's always funny — and also inspiring!
