Very good. I enjoyed the journey of the plate and the story of your family history in different places and times.

Thanks so much, Steve! It's hard to believe it traveled so far and wide — and without breaking!

My sister loves cilantro, but our mother couldn't abide it, nor can I. My sister married a woman who also can't abide it, which is nice for reinforcement when sharing a meal.

Isn't it interesting that we tend to feel that way — that we want others to validate things like our distaste for cilantro? I think that those who lack the cilantro-hating gene don't quite believe it's a thing and, at least on some level, think we should like it. It reminds me of how people who need less sleep often think that those of us who need more sleep could just set our minds to it if we wanted and sleep less. There's a lack of understanding of these physical things on the part of people who don't experience them directly. I'm sure I do this, too, with things that are alien to me. Thanks for reading and commenting, Kristi!
