Just about every morning I have a specific yogurt, Two Good Lemon. They are having “supply issues” and the yogurt might be going away forever. Don’t get me started about Jack’s The Works pizza.

And see my examples are all food. That’s funny.

Well, coffee is sort of food, lol. I had the same issue during the height of the pandemic with a wonderful tea leaf salad kit I get at Whole Foods, developed by a local Burmese restaurant. They had supply chain issues with the tea leaves needed for it, and now, every time I have it I enjoy it all the more because I think that maybe someday, we won't be able to get it anymore. Seriously, I'm concerned about future food supply chain issues on account of climate change. I also have my specific yogurt I like, and so many other items! Best wishes for your yogurt!!

That’s one of the things I like about Trader Joe’s. There are not TOO many choices in their product lines, and not many other brands other than their own. Makes shopping faster and easier.

Trader Joe's does NOT HAVE MY FAVORITE COFFEE, Steve! However, they do have the almond milk I like, unsweetened AND organic. So they are instrumental to my coffee enjoyment. I've gotten to the point where various stores have the things I like the most, so I shop at a few. I'm always a quick shopper, wherever I go, because I dislike shopping so much. 🤣

I expect that, more and more often, we'll have trouble finding the exact product we want, always available.

On fix for the leggings / bra issue is to check an app like "Poshmark" where you can buy used clothing but you are able to search for brand and size the way you can in online stores. Turn off the various notification so it doesn't spam you. It has worked really well for me a few times when I had my own REI leggings crisis :)

p.s. Don't let the horrible app name scare you away :)

Thanks, Marina!! I did try Poshmark, which I've used before (agree about the bad name, though), and eBay! These leggings are not easy to find, and I don't think most people want to resell them. However, I managed to score a few that somehow turned up on the REI site, for sale because they're discontinued. Phew!

We have been so spoiled with so many products for so long! And yet, it's always been challenging to find the right one among so many. Will we be better off with less choice? It's hard to say, as no one really wants less choice. But we may find out, whether we like it or not.

Our form of capitalism is based on buying new. Quantity, not quality. This is why the quality of most brands of clothing has been declining for years. If you have a product, like your leggings, that you like & wear, you will buy more as you need them. If they drop your favorite, you'll buy several in the search for a replacement.

Numerous food items became scarce or disappeared during the early days of COVID. Some eventually made it back to the shelves, but others did not. My husband is disappointed that his favorite steak sauce is no longer produced.

Yes, always buying new, buying more. I heard that it was a nephew of Freud's who started the PR industry using techniques from psychology. People didn't used to by so much stuff, and what they did buy lasted longer. And good point about then having to buy several in search of a replacement. I don't want to have to buy whole bags of coffee to try them out — at least we have a local Buy Nothing group where I can give away any rejects, but it's still money wasted.

Funny how this seems to be about food or drinks for many of us! We all have our favorite items.
